Meet your midwife!
Hi, I'm Larissa!
My professional career began in 2012 as a scientist, working in laboratories that supported the agrochemical and water industries. Yoga became a significant part of my life during college and led me to my first teacher training in 2013. During that time I realized the spark that first drew me to birth work—after watching TLC’s "A Baby Story" in the 90s—was still burning. Teaching prenatal yoga ultimately led me to become a doula and pursue midwifery.
My approach to perinatal care is shaped by my background in science and yoga. Those disciplines mesh beautifully, combining evidence with trust and autonomy. I believe in honoring, trusting, and respecting women and birthing people to help facilitate positive, empowered birth experiences.
I was born and raised on the South Coast of Massachusetts and relocated to the seacoast of New Hampshire in 2020 to study midwifery. I attended Birthwise Midwifery School until it’s closure, completed my midwifery training at SWTC, a MEAC-accredited program, and finished a four-year clinical apprenticeship. I became a Certified Professional Midwife and hold current certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS). My Rhode Island licensure is pending.
My personal birth experience includes two homebirths; our daughter was born at home in January 2023 and we recently weclomed our son at home in July 2025! Both wildly different experiences!
Outside of birthwork I’m an avid hiker currently working on the NH 48 4,000-footers. I also enjoy cycling, knitting, cuddling all the animals, and walking barefoot outside. I was recently described as “delightfully weird,” and I’ll proudly wear that badge. I look forward to working with you!
Based out of the central location of New Bedford, MA!
Rhode Island licensure is currently pending. We anticipate extending care into RI at the beginning of 2026.
